Ohio State University LibraryADMISSIONS CRITERIA

A baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university is required prior to the start of graduate studies. Most of our students have a degree in the life sciences. Many prospective students wonder if they meet the academic criteria for the Molecular Genetics Graduate Program. The graduate studies committee would like to stress that each application is considered on its individual merit. In general terms, an applicant with a GPA of greater than 3.0, an average score on the GRE General Tests of greater than 60%, and experience in biological research are more likely to be successful in the our graduate program than other applicants. Applicants that show strong potential in a subset of these areas are often considered.
Applicants may use the free Fast Track procedure to determine if they likely meet our academic requirements.
